more genius from FOCS family, Chera & Geo!  their newest project Food & Sh*t, has created a stir in Seattle’s foodie scene with their monthly modern Filipino pop-up restaurant.  Blue Scholar’s fanatics revel in the familiar and also the off the beaten path flavors of their favorite Seattle hip-hop activist, Geologic aka Prometheus Brown.  Chera’s HOOD FAMOUS ube cheesecake has become an urban legend and Geo’s journey showcasing a range of artistic talent from nationally acclaimed MC, old skool photographer to cheffing it up with traditionalist Pacific Island flavas with a homage to the Northwest.  FOCS is honored to collab and mash up our Korean Hawaiian Filipino traditional flare for the community!  FOOD MUSIC & FAMILY.  yeah, that’s it!  mahalos fam, what a crazy fun experiment for a higher calling, we are grateful for the INNOVATIVE way to fundraise stacks for the kids at CORNERSTONE CAFE!! As you may have noticed, in the last few months Amy and other FOCS members have been working really hard to bring to you and your family our community dream HUB, CORNERSTONE CAFE!  View this SEVEN month process unfold below as our Cornerstone Cafe BUILDERS of 20+ FOCS moms & dads have developed programming, a BOARD OF DIRECTORS, have filed to become a 501c3 non-profit and registered WA & City of Seattle business, secured one year’s rent, and collectively driven our dream into a beautiful brick and mortar home in Hillman City at the Collaboratory.    Free classes October 15, 16th and 17th to celebrate OPENING! The next photo is of YOU becoming a FOCS year-long cooperative member at $150, GIVING even BIGGER, and sharing our campaign to other LOVING SUPPORTERS.   LET’S BRING IN $25,000 together in 30 days!  An all-inclusive family cultural space that promotes women and parents of color leadership, international cultures, and diversity.  All while building a loving community for our little ones! And YOU can make it happen by becoming an official COOPERATIVE MEMBER of FOCS and help us OPEN our doors to the GENERAL PUBLIC and the greater Seattle community! WHAT EXACTLY IS FOCS CORNERSTONE CAFE? Located in a diverse space in South Seattle at the Collaboratory, a co-share work & community space, FOCS  will continue to offer parenting programs (DAD FOCS, newborn & waddler groups). We will add DROP-IN childcare, cultural art & music classes for children, bi-lingual story time with native speakers, and evening community forums with professionals (ex: family planning, doula- midwifery workshops, acupuncture, fertility & adoption forums, IT classes for entrepreneurial parents, yoga and fitness and much more!). FOCS Cornerstone Cafe is a platform for parents to become entrepreneurial and teach programs, organize, or coordinate parent groups that enable us to integrate our cultures, family, and gather with the community. Cornerstone Cafe also offers a cooperative component for FOCS members to volunteer at Cornerstone Cafe in exchange for free childcare.
